1st Quarter 2022

1st Quarter 2022

After over 100 days out of the water and then a Christmas break, the Auckland Coaches and CSG have planned for a very deliberate start back to racing. Coaches wanted a complete training cycle post-Christmas to get their teams back into shape. With no requirement for approved times for Regional or National meets, clubs can run ‘club night’ development meets in January and February and upload them onto the database.

We have also developed dual meet formats for clubs to use.

The qualifying period for NZ opens has also been extended by SNZ at our request.

Our biggest challenge is in the 12/U space as we wait to hear about the Vaccine role out for this age-group and any ensuing restrictions. Club nights and dual meets are key to keeping this group engaged.Due to the requirement for the use of Vaccine Passes and the increased Health and Safety compliance, the Swimming Auckland Board have decided that all L1/2 meets and above will be run by Swimming Auckland until further notice.

AMC –                                postponed until Dec 2022.

Juniors –                            postponed until June/July

HJF-                                   This is still scheduled for Feb but is under review.

Feb L1/2 –                          Moved to beginning of March

Age Group and Opens –    combined over two weekends with heats and finals

With the rescheduling of NZ Open Water we will have a clash, but we have endeavored to mitigate this as best we can. The 800 free championship will be contested at the L1/2 Meet and the 1500 Free championship will be contested on the first weekend of the Auckland Champs.
